With a current handling capacity of 1.000.000 TEU, the Port of Gdynia’s Baltic Container Terminal (BCT) is the leading container terminal in Poland and one of the largest in the Baltic region.

In June, 2003, International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI), a Philippine based international container terminal operating company, became the owner and operator of BCT by winning 20 years concession for terminal operations. Established in December 1987, ICTSI is widely recognized as a leading worldwide operator, innovator and pioneer in its field.

The Terminal handling-storage potential:

• the Terminal covers an area of 60 ha,
• the „Helskie I” quay, 800m long and 12,5m deep (construction depth 13,5m) with 5 berths serving lo-lo container vessels and 1 berth serving ro-ro vessels (with own ramp)
• railway terminal with 3 rail tracks 680 m. each (accommodating full train length),
• marshalling yard with 6 tracks 1,000m long, suitable for serving and making up container trains,
• 5 entry and 4 exit gates for containers / trucks (equipped with automatic gate system and short circuit TV),
• storage yards accommodating up to 24 800 TEU,
• general cargo warehouses:
o of 20 000 sq.m. with the capacity of 15 000 tons of general cargo,
o of 1 058 sq.m. comprising 2 chambers of 529 sq. m. each bonded area:

• 680 reefer plugs in stacks
• vehicle storage yard accommodating up to 6,500 cars,

Handling equipment:

· 6 ship-to-shore (STS) gantries including: 4 x 19-rows; 2 x 17-rows;
· 2 rail mounted gantries (RMG) 35-40t,
· 20 rubber-tyred gantries (RTG) 30,5/35/40t,
· 2 Mobile Harbour Cranes 100t each
· 2 straddle carriers with the capacity of 45 tons,
· 3 reachstackers
· 38 terminal tractors,
· 16 diesel and electric forklifts with the capacity from 1,5 to 7 tons,
· 4 diesel heavy forklifts with the capacity from 12 to 28 tons,
