China-Finland - three more rail routes

Nurminen Logistics will open new container train connections between Helsinki and Suzhou, Ningbo, and Jinan, following a tripling in the company's China box rail volumes in 2020.

The first train from Suzhou left China on 19 January, while the two other destinations will follow suit in February.

The Suzhou and Jinan routes go through the Erenhot-Zamyn-Udd border crossing between China and Mongolia, then via the Russian Naushki and finally the Buslovskaya-Vainikkala border between Russia and Finland.

The Ningbo-Helsinki service takes the Alashankou-Dostyk Chinese-Kazakh crossing, goes through Iletski in Russia, and also passes Buslovskaya-Vainikkala on its way to Finland's capital.

In addition to these, the company has been offering the Chongqing-Helsinki service (Alashankou-Dostyk-Iletski-Buslovskaya-Vainikkala) for a few months already.

"The capacity challenge caused by the COVID-19 and the lack of containers in China's maritime traffic continues. By using Nurminen Logistics rail services many companies have been able to get their products to destination without delays. Nurminen Logistics train runs between China and Northern Europe in both directions. In February, export trains depart every two weeks to Chongqing and Jinan and tailored trains to customers who book the whole train," the company said in a press release.
