CMA CGM buys into Britanny Ferries

The container major will invest €25m in the ferry company, including €10m in quasi-equity, to help with post-COVID recovery.

The agreement establishes a commercial partnership between the CMA CGM Group and Brittany Ferries through available cargo space on board the latter's services to the United Kingdom, Ireland, and the Iberian Peninsula.

A representative of the CMA CGM Group will join Brittany Ferries' Supervisory Board, too.

The two will also work on introducing new ro-ro services.

CMA CGM and Britanny Ferries will also share knowledge and resources in using liquefied natural gas (LNG) as a marine fuel, such as crew training and safety procedures.
