TransContainer, Pantos Logistics, and PKP LHS have partnered to establish a multimodal service that connects Busan with Sławków via the Trans-Siberian Railway and Ukraine.

The first shipment of 60 containers (electronics, car parts, consumer goods) has left the Korean Port of Busan and arrived in the Russian Nahodka, where the load got transshipped onto a train.

The set will cross the Trans-Siberian Railway, enter Ukraine through the Suzemka-Zernovo border-crossing and then Poland via the Izov-Hrubieszów one, arriving at Euroterminal Sławków after 15 days.

The parties behind the new link intend to turn it into a regular once-per-week service.

TransContainer has provided containers and rail haulage from the Russian Far East to Poland, while PKP LHS - on the Polish side. Pantos Logistics is in charge of trucking the cargoes to the Port of Busan, the sea leg, and last-mile delivery in Europe.

"Railway transportation within the framework of our new service is performed along the longest wide-gauge route in the world: in total, a block train runs over more than 11 thousand kilometers," Vladimir Khlutkov, Asia-Pacific Business Development Director, TransContainer, highlighted.

He also underlined, "Single gauge transportation saves time since there is no need to perform transshipment on route till the border with the country of destination point."
