Increased frequency of Poland Xpress

As of 1 February, Lineas and PCC Intermodal's rail freight service will run five times per week between Antwerp and PoznaƄ, via Frankfurt (Oder), instead of three.

As such, the service's capacity will increase up to 600 TEUs/week. It takes 36 hours for the Poland Xpress service to connect Belgium and Poland.

According to the parties, half of Poland Xpress' volumes were previously carried by road. They also state that the service's utilisation rate is 95-100%. Thanks to that, some 40-50 trucks per train are shifted from roads onto rails. More than 200 trains had been dispatched over the course of the year.

"Directly after the launch [in February 2020], the COVID crisis broke out, causing 50-kilometre traffic jams at borders. The Poland Xpress quickly revealed its value and today we continued to smoothly serve our customers with a fast and reliable connection," Marius Marscholl, responsible for business development on the Corridor East at Lineas, said.
