Kombiverkehr boosts its traffic to/from Sweden

The Frankfurt-based rail company has upgraded two of its services - Coevorden-Bad Bentheim-Malmö and Lübeck-Stockholm.

Trains on the first of these services run now three times per week instead of two. The Lübeck-Stockholm route, which was previously a dedicated service to one freight forwarder, is now open to other parties wanting to ship their goods on this train. In addition, the frequency of the Lübeck-Stockholm has increased from three to five weekly departures.

"We expect to see demand for intermodal solutions in northern European transport continue to climb this year, having already posted record results in this segment last year. The changes that we have now made to our own network via the fixed link are therefore just the logical consequence of this growth trend," Peter Dannewitz, Head of Sales, Kombiverkehr, said.
