Maritime Transport and GB Railfreight have teamed up to offer a Monday through Saturday intermodal route that connects the former's Birmingham Intermodal Freight Terminal and DP World London Gateway.

The service will offer 87 TEUs of capacity in each direction.

According to the parties, "The commencement of a new daily connection will result in a considerable reduction in CO2 emissions, saving over 4,000,000 road miles per year in an increasingly-congested road network."
