New Port of Calais - launched

After six years of work, the EU co-financed €863m-worth project was finished, enlarging the Port Boulogne Calais with an entirely new harbour for next-gen ferry traffic.

A new 3.2 km-long breakwater was put in place, sheltering 90 ha of docking area (9-11 m-deep) and 65 ha of land (incl. 45 ha reclaimed from the sea).

Three new berthing places, equipped with double ramps, were put in place to serve vessels up to 240 m in length.
