SOL sells Vikingland to Salamis Lines

The Cyprus-based shipping line has purchased for €4.95m the ro-ro vessel in question from the Swedish Orient Line (SOL).

The 1982-built Vikingland is 155 m-long and offers 2,170 lane metres of cargo capacity. The ship was most recently chartered to Stena Line; she replaced in mid-August 2018 the ro-ro Bore Bay to serve the October 2017-established link between Gdynia and Nynäshamn, a service that was nonetheless closed at the beginning of 2019.

Vikingland is expected to join the fleet of Salamis Lines in April. The company's network covers services between Cyprus and Greece as well as other links in the eastern part of the Mediterranean.
