SOL's new FI-DE-BE-EN ro-ro service

The Swedish shipping line will put in place a new route as of early January, linking the Finnish Pietarsaari with the ports in Lübeck, Zeebrugge, and Tilbury.

The weekly call will be served by the ro-ros Thuleland and Tundraland, both offering 2,774 lane metres of cargo carrying capacity.

The new service will chiefly take care of BillerudKorsnäs' export of paper products from its mill in the Finnish town, but will be open to other exporters as well as importers.

In addition, the company will, if requested, provide its clients with logistical support, the overall responsibility for the customer's shipping department, or assistance in specific assignments where the client does not have the necessary expertise.

"The service will further strengthen our position as a main supplier of the Swedish and Finnish forest industry. SOL offers its customers since 2014 the best possible service between Finland and the continent. We remain committed to offer a reliable, frequent and fast transport service on these and all other SOL routes," Ragnar Johansson, Managing Director, Swedish Orient Line.
