Tyrfing on her way to the Baltic
2025-11-03
The Turkish Cemre Shipyard has bid farewell to the hybrid ferry that, after around 18 days of sailing, will reach the Baltic, where she'll, after final works in Svendborg and crew training, enter the Ballen-Kalundborg service.
The 116.8 by 18.2-metre ship, offering room for 600 passengers and 188 vehicles, features a battery pack of 3.8MWh that will enable her to make the crossing emission-free.
The very first departure is planned to take place on 1 December 2025.
OSK-ShipTech has designed Tyrfing, including with autonomous functionalities in line with BV notations for auto-crossing and auto-docking operations. The ferry's four back-up generators, each 493ekW, are designed to run on hydrotreated vegetable oil.
