Upgraded Copernicus joins Unity Line's fleet

The Polish ferry company deployed today across the Świnoujście-Trelleborg route its latest €15m acquisition.

Initially, the ferry was to enter traffic in July, but some additional shipyard works needed to be done in order for Copernicus to fit her new service. Specifically, the space for both cargo and passengers of the 1995-built ferry was enlarged - from 1,780 to 1,830 lane metres and from 99 to 160 travellers, respectively.

Among other modifications, there are now also two new dining rooms that can accommodate up to 140 people and two holds for carrying dry bulk shipments. A new 750 kW bow thruster was installed, too.

Copernicus joined her sister ship Galileusz as well as Gryf and Wolin in serving the route between Świnoujście and Trelleborg. Previously, she was plying in the colours of Moby Lines on the route Piombino-Olbia as Puglia.
