World's first LNG-retrofitted box ship enters Baltic traffic

The dual-fuel Wes Amelie has joined the fleet of Unifeeder and has been put on the company's Loop 1 that links the Netherlands with Poland and the Baltics.

The 157.1 m long 12,236 dwt Wes Amelie offers 1,036 TEU of capacity (incl. 250 reefer plugs) on the route between Rotterdam, Gdynia, GdaƄsk, Klaipeda, Riga, and Tallinn (Muuga).

"The environment has always been a major factor when the European industry choses partners. At Unifeeder, we are proud of being frontrunners operating and testing the first retrofitted LNG container vessel in the world," Niels Kjaer-Richardt, Shortsea Director, Unifeeder, commented.
