The Danish shipping line has commissioned the also Danish Hvide Sande shipyard for the construction of a domestic traffic all-electric ferry for its Fanølinjen brand.

The new ship, to be delivered in 2021, will replace the 1962-built Sonderho, currently sailing across the Esbjerg-Fanø service.

In addition, Molslinjen will look into the possibility of electrifying two other ferries that play on the route in question, Fenja and Menja.
